What
makes the perfect holiday? That something special. That magical
something that lives on in your memory for the rest of your
life. That indescribable feeling where years later you still
get a warm fuzzy feeling about your holiday.
Long Island Resort in the Whitsunday’s has all the magic that
the holiday maker could ever want.
Long Island Resort
does have the usual facilities that one could expect from an
award winning 160 room three and a half star island resort.
It has restaurants, swimming pools, tennis courts, kids club
(4-14 years), activities, bars, nightly entertainment and so
much more. Long Island’s accommodation enhances the natural
ambience of an island setting, we aim to allow privacy and ensure
the highest level of service whilst still ensuring an intimate
getaway.
Enjoy the magic of
nature with 20 km of scenic walking tracks, explore the 2500
acres of national park and palm fringed beaches – ideal for
all ages and fitness levels. For those who enjoy the great outdoors
or simply wish to enjoy the complete Long Island experience,
you may wish to completely circumnavigate the Island by foot.
You will endure 9 hours of walking/hiking/climbing but the memories
will last forever.
As the sun sets behind
the mountains of the Conway National Park, its last light shimmers
across the water. A truly magical sight through the palm trees
and the Resort surrounds. This also heralds the nightly flight
of the fruit bats as they momentarily darken the sky at dusk
silently flying across the expansive courtyard and off into
the night. The outside world is forgotten as you are submersed
in nature’s wonders.
The exotic howling
bird, the flightless curlew, another of nights many magical
creatures will soon run and prop as it sneaks through the gardens
and onto the beach to search for crabs and worms. Occasionally,
it lets out a howl that leaves no doubt in your mind that you
are certainly holidaying on a magical Island. Then right on
cue, the small wallabies come out of the hills and hop along
the beach scratching for underground fresh water. This sight
is one of great wonderment as usually our wallaby friends are
associated with the outback not a magical island setting with
palm trees and sandy beaches.
No Whitsunday getaway
is complete without enjoying the Great Barrier Reef. Long Island
boasts coral reef only 150 metres off shore. Snorkels, Fins
and other equipment is available, a sight not to be missed!
You may chose to enjoy your complimentary pool dive, for a small
fee you can dive accompanied by a dive instructor on Long Island’s
own reef and before you know it, you’re back in the hammock
again with yet another magical memory.
From the young to
the young at heart, Long Island Resort caters for everyone.
We pride ourselves on the suitability of our facilities for
all age groups, with an extensive range of daily activities
in which to participate. Alternatively, indulge yourself by
lazing on the beach in front of your room and soak in your surroundings
– a cocktail from our pool bar really does enhance this experience!
Long
Island Resort boasts a comprehensive range of water sports,
parasailing, jet skiing, catamaran sailing, glass bottom water
bikes, water-skiing, scuba dive activities, fishing trips and
Island cruises are all available.
Indulge in an island
picnic utilizing the 20kms of bush tracks, our water sport team
will even arrange for a picnic hamper to be waiting for you
on your arrival at the secluded Sandy Bay.
Long Island Resort
– Club Croc has experienced a cocktail of name changes, however
excellence in product and service has remained consistent. Since
1934, the original resort where Club Crocodile is now situated,
was simply called Happy Bay. Aptly named after the Bay that
laps its palm-fringed shore. In the early 80’s, the resort was
sold to a Gold Coast tourist entrepreneur who renovated and
renamed this magical place “Whitsunday 100”. Not long after
Contiki Tours purchased this magical piece of heaven on earth
and changed its name to “Contiki”, then a couple of years later,
after spending over 30 million dollars on expansion, it relaunched
itself as “The Island”. Not long after this, new management
was appointed and the once Happy Bay became known as “Radisson
Long Island”. In January 1994, Club Crocodile purchased this
magical Island resort and named it Long Island – Club Croc and
its charm has been taking guests’ breath away ever since.
First time visitors
experience amazement at this idyllic location and return guests
experience continued satisfaction. After a holiday at Long Island
Resort – Club Croc, you will leave with unforgettable memories
of beautiful views, food and service to last the rest of your
life.
From international
guests to those a little closer to home, experience the real
magic Long Island Resort, Whitsunday’s Best Value Resort has
